Introduction: Curvelo is a Brazilian municipality in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, southeastern region of the country. It is located in the central region of Minas Gerais, occupies the 14th place in the ranking of the 50 Brazilian small cities with the best economic development. On March 08, 2016, the Curvelo Cancer Institute was inaugurated with a multidisciplinary team and trained professionals for comprehensive care of cancer patients with more than 900 patients treated. In 2019, the project of guided tours by the Institute named Onco Tour was conceived in order to present the activities carried out for hospital professionals as well as for the community. Objective: The main objective of this article is to report the experience of guided visits by a physician and a physicist by the oncology and radiotherapy departments of the Curvelo Cancer Institute. Method: We used the auditorium infrastructure to present data related to oncology and radiotherapy information, followed by a guided tour with presentation of the departments. Results: Starting in March 2019, the Cancer Institute Visit Program, ONCOTUR, featured more than 15 lectures on cancer prevention and early detection, and more than 600 visitors from staff and various community groups such as Rotarys, Freemasons, councilors, students, parishes, among other groups, who knew the whole structure closely. Conclusion: The guided tours were a great opportunity to bring staff and the community together to alert the growing number of cancer cases and above all a chance to inform this population about the activities and risk factors involved in this disease.
